| Welcome to UCOS Foundation Website | | The “One Child, One Hope” (in Romanian, “Un Copil, O Speranta”) Foundation was created in June 1998 by a common initiative of its founder, Mrs. Elena Miruna Tudorache and a group of French people with a generous heart, who wanted to help the Romanian abandoned children. The activities started with the Reception and Family Placement Center – SURYA HOUSE – on the 24th of December, 1998. Since 1999 the Foundation is conducting the Social Assistance and Abandon Prevention Program for families in need from Sibiu county. Since 2002, the Day Center for Recovery and Stimulation of Children with Special Needs provides a unique and very successful program for the social and educational integration of the children with disabilities. | | | |

| Elena Miruna Tudorache – Founder 1998 | | We have created this center in order to respond to the needs of Romanian children in difficulty. In a transition period, the children are the first victims. Our main motivation is to help the children, which have seldomly or maybe even never experienced childhood. The “One Child, One Hope” Foundation envisions that the next generation will grow and live in a world where their fundamental rights are respected. The Foundation is a nongovernmental organization, which believes that children are Romania’s future, Europe’s future, World’s future. We wish to give the childhood back to the children and also to guarantee a better future for each of them and for each of us. So, join us! Every child wants to play, to go to kindergarten, to school, to call somebody “Mum and Dad”, to have the security of a home. Let’s not ruin their dreams! Our role is to nurture their hopes. The “One Child, One Hope” Foundation could have been named “One Hope, One Child” – the message would have been the same: They are our hope and we are theirs! Elena Miruna Tudorache – Founder 1998 | |
