Counselling and Therapy Center for Child and Family began its activity as a result to the infantile ill-treatement phenomenon: physical, emotional, sexual abuse, negligence, exploitation.

Generally child ill-treatement is determinated by social, economic, edicational factors and also by people mentality who belive that to beat a child is not just a good way of punishment but also means to educate the child. What the people don’t know is that the consequences of threatening, beating, physical or emotional punishment have a real influence on child’s development. Couselling and Therapy Center for Child and Family has as a mission the emotional support, to help the ill-treatement victimes to go beyond the traume and of its consequences also to help them to adapt to alll this changes. A professional and multidisciplinary team formed by a psychologist therapeutist, social worker, doctor and jurist helps the victimes to go beyond the traume.

We have to mention that all the cases are resolved with the help of the specialists fr the General Direction for Child Protection of Sibiu.

1. The geografical zone which is covered: the departement of Sibiu;
2. The target group: the children who are victimes of ill-treatement, adults victimes of domestic violence phenomenon, children who are in risk of ill-treatement.

The counselling of the abused family or where there’s a risk of a buse.

Emotional support, exceeding the traume and its consequences for the abused, negligent or exploited child.

Development of programs in order to inform the comunity about center’s activity and also mediatisation campaigns to prevent the ill-treatement phenomenon.

Profesional forming in prevention of child abuse and promotion of good practice domain.

Couselling / therapy for all the cases by the center’s specialists, precocious intervention in the ill-treatement cases in order to minimize the consequences.

Child and family assistance and support by psychological, social, juridical and medical couselling; stimulation of actions which permit the improvement of the family climate.

Drawing up different foldings for the target population (children, parents, professionals).

Organisation of meetings in order to inform and sensitize the students from Lucian Blafa University.

Volunteers recruitement for the center’s activities.

Prevention actions of ill-tretement and abuse phenomenon by mediatisation,informing actions, parents and citizens education, mediatisation and informing for the teachers from the local institutions, informing campaignes for the family doctors.

Promotion of good practises for child protection and care.
